Interview SummaryLillian "Nareen" White-Washington was the first African American female basketball player at the University of Kentucky. In this interview, White-Washington talks about her childhood in Georgetown, Kentucky. She talks about playing sports with the boys and her competitive attitude, especially in track and basketball. She talks about her current work with the Community Action Foster Grandmother Program, mentoring children who need extra help academically or in other aspects of their lives. White-Washington talks about her legacy as the first African American female basketball player at UK and her impact on the African American players who came after her.
