Interview Summary

Reverend Leslie Wayne Whitlock began mucking stalls as a five year old. His stepfather, Ollie White was a Saddlebred trainer who taught him the value of hard work. Reverend Whitlock shares stories of working for Richard “Dick” Duncan and Glyndle Tabor on 3-T Farm in Allen County, Kentucky where he learned to break and groom horses. In the late 1980s, he became an owner and trainer when he and a friend went into the Thoroughbred horse business. Reverend Whitlock relates his experiences with two of his winning horses and how his passion and patience for horses translated positively into his ministry for at-risk youth.
