Interview Summary
Algassimu Bah and his family left Liberia when he was 11 years old, they went to Gambia and later, at 13, he and his family relocated to the United States because of the war. His father wanted the best education for him and his siblings. When they were about to leave for the United States, people were really nice to them because they wanted them not to forget about them when they arrived. The way he imagined the USA was different as compared to reality. Back home when he heard of America, he thought of no suffering, have anything you want, as if it is a second heaven.Interview Accession
