Interview Summary
Marilyn Dishman is the daughter of Oscar Dishman, Jr., an acclaimed horse trainer and civil rights activist. In this interview, Dishman discusses her family's history with horses, her own involvement with horses while helping her father, and her father's many accomplishments throughout his career. She describes her experiences in a segregated school, experiencing racism and discrimination after moving to integrated churches and schools, and her later career as a teacher.
