Interview Summary

Hughes talks about growing up in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She describes going to college at University of Iowa, spending a semester in Chicago and meeting the Chicago Seven and attending a Black Panthers rally. Hughes details moving to Kentucky, involvement with the League of Women Voters, being co-president of the League of Women Voters.
