Interview Summary
Sterrett was born and grew up in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. She attended Edinboro University for her undergraduate degree in Mathematics from 1961 to 1964. She then moved to Pittsburgh with her husband, and after teaching at a local middle school for two years, got her Master's from University of Pittsburgh. After moving to Wisconsin, Maryland, and back to Pittsburgh again, she moved to Lexington in 1972 and has been here since. She taught at Lafayette High School for 30 years and has been a member of the League of Women since the late 70s/early 80s. Sterrett currently serves as the local league's treasurer and has for the past four years. Sterrett also served as membership chair. She's helped with voter registration, naturalization ceremonies, candidate forums, and the Teacher's Organization.Interview Accession
