Interview Summary

Lewis Colten enrolled at the University of Kentucky in the fall of 1969 and graduated with a degree in Architecture in 1973. While a student, Mr. Colten, a former Freedom Rider, was the head of the Students for a Democratic Society. In this interview he discusses the Cold War, his involvement in the Civil Rights Movement including lunch-counter sit-ins in Baltimore, Maryland, and Freedom Ride to Mississippi.
