Interview Summary
Christopher Roesel discusses serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala from 1973-1975 in the School Gardens and Nutrition Program. He was accepted and assigned to a math teaching program in Liberia but delayed to be able to join a program to Guatemala with his wife. Roesel worked with teachers and students in about twenty schools to develop school gardens whose produce would support school lunch programs. His Peace Corps service became the starting point for a long career in international public health. He is the author of two books summarizing many of the lessons he learned from his experiences.Interview Accession
