Interview Summary

In this interview, Judith Moffett discusses 1978 through 1983. She talks about teaching at an ivy-league university vs. at a land-grant institution, especially with regards to humanities. Moffett discusses the American novel and the evolution of science fiction as literature. She also talks about the "New Wave Movement" in the 1960s. In addition, Moffett discusses writing a poem while at Cambridge dedicated to James Merrill called "Missing Person" and participating in a reading with James Merrill at the 92nd Street Y. She also describes the difference between the publication of literary criticism vs. poetry.
