Interview Summary

Robert Baker Hehl, born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 29, 1922, served in the United Stated Navy during World War II. Hehl joined the Navy on July 30, 1940. Hehl held the rank of Gunners Mate 1st Class during his service. Hehl spent time on the USS Colorado and the USS Revenge sweeping for mines in the Pacific Ocean. After being discharged from the military in August 1945, Hehl returned to Oldham County where he served as Vice Principal, Principal, teacher, and Athletic Director for the schools.
