Interview Summary

Jerry Stevens was the original director of the Office of Minority Affairs at the University of Kentucky. In this interview, Stevens and the interviewer, Lauretta Byars, discuss the creation of the Martin Luther King Committee and its part in starting the first Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrations in Lexington, Kentucky. They also discuss scholarship funding and community involvement, as well as education related to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
