Interview Summary

Historian Dr. Thomas Clark talks about his experiences with Earle Clements as a governor and senator. He recalls the campaign in 1947 to call a convention to revise the Kentucky state constitution. He recounts the case of Lyman Johnson and the NAACP challenging Kentucky's Day Law, which enforced racial segregation in Kentucky schools. Dr. Clark also talks about Johnson as a graduate student and about graduate school in general terms.
