Interview Summary
Sprung discusses his musical experiences during childhood, including how he became acquainted with the banjo and folk music. Sprung talks of his group the Shanty Boys. Sprung describes his work life, including being a full-time musician and music teacher. Sprung lists the various music and bluegrass festivals he has played at over the years. Sprung details the broadening boundaries of bluegrass music and playing classical music in bluegrass instrumentation. He mentions other people he has played with and where he has played, as well as some of his albums. Sprung discusses how he purchased a Gibson All-American banjo and plays several songs.
