Oliver's, named for the Oliver family, was a village located in Clark County, Kentucky, near Winchester. At one time it had a working distillery, mill, store houses, and homes. This project focuses on African Americans in this region during the early 20th century. Specifically discussed are racial segregation, the process of integration, the Great Depression, employment, and businesses owned by African Americans. Other topics include education, family, social life, traditions, and religion.
