Summary: 

Marianna Colten (Ecuador, 1981-1982; Education Program) talks about her decision to go to Ecuador to work in special education as a volunteer, and her success working with her community to start a kindergarten. Marianna describes training in detail, challenges with language, and a close friendship with her Ecuadorian landlady and daughter. She also discusses her life and educational background both before and after joining the Peace Corps, including getting a master's and teaching certification in Spanish and teaching Spanish to all grade levels at Good Shepherd School in Frankfort where she instituted a popular Global Village Day.
