A Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) activist, Dr. Marlatt discusses her educational background, her professional career at the University of Kentucky, and the reaction of her colleagues to her involvement with this organization. The history of CORE in Lexington beginning in 1959, including the reception received from the African American community as well as city hall's reaction, are recounted by Dr. Marlatt. She recalls strategic planning meetings at Pleasant Green Baptist Church, and the membership and accomplishments of CORE.
